Constructive has worked from New York since 2000 on brand strategy and websites for social impact organisations, and it organises its portfolio by issue area: climate, education and the arts, foundations, think tanks, public interest law and science. ClimateWorks, the climate philanthropy set up by the Hewlett, Packard and Oak foundations, got months of interviews and workshops before a messaging handbook and an updated identity. For the Surdna Foundation, just past its centenary, Constructive audited the old site and rebuilt it around a new theory of change. The Weizmann Institute hired it to brand a $225 million capital campaign, which included the Institute's first online giving portal.

Large foundations, universities, research institutes and policy groups whose work is hard to explain in a sentence are the strongest fit, particularly when a strategy shift needs to reach brand and website at once. Organisations selling products online will find no ecommerce experience here, and a small nonprofit wanting a quick site launch may find the research phase more than it needs.
