About DesignAgencyIndex
DesignAgencyIndex ranks design agencies by service, industry and US city. It is built for the people who hire agencies: founders, marketing leads, and product and design teams who need a shortlist they can act on, not a list of every studio with a website.
What we cover
The site covers web, brand, product, UI/UX and app design, along with redesign, rebranding, graphic design, logo design, design systems and motion. The site profiles 204 agencies from around the world, and our top 50 includes studios from North America, Europe and beyond.
The rankings are organized three ways:
By service: 18 lists, from web design and branding to design systems.
By industry: 11 lists, including SaaS, fintech, healthcare and ecommerce.
By US city: the United States as a whole, plus New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Denver and Chicago.
What you get on every page
A clear fit. Every entry says who the agency is best for and when you should look elsewhere.
Facts you can check. Locations, clients and case studies come from the agency’s own website, and awards are listed only with a link to the source.
A visible method. Every agency is scored out of 10 on five weighted criteria, and our methodology shows exactly what each one measures.
No paid placements. Agencies cannot pay to be listed or to rank higher.
How to use the site
- Start with a list that matches your project: the service you need, your industry or your city.
- Read the fit notes. “Best for” and “Skip if” narrow a list of ten to two or three quickly.
- Open the profiles of your shortlist to see clients, notable work and the rankings each agency appears in.
- Contact the agencies directly through their websites. We do not broker introductions or take a fee from either side.
