Work & Co has worked from Brooklyn since 2013 and is built around dedicated teams allocated for a fixed window, usually several months, rather than deliverables billed one by one. It looks expensive in a proposal and tends to finish what it starts.

The first weeks go to a working prototype in the browser, tested with real users before visual design is signed off. Its consumer work shows the method most clearly: the website and booking flow for Virgin America and the digital experience for Equinox, with Apple and Google also among its clients. It ranks first on our ecommerce list.

The model works when the client can commit a decision-maker every week to a fast product engagement. Projects with no clear owner on the client side stall, and the fixed-team structure makes it a poor fit for small one-off pieces of work.
