Groundwrk calls itself a boutique digital agency, with a studio on Blake Street in Denver and a second office in Nashville. Most of its output is custom websites on WordPress and Shopify, backed by a smaller branding and social practice and, unusually, branded games. Founder Randall Hartman acts as creative director and signs off every piece of creative before clients see it. It is #3 on our Denver ranking.

Colorado names dominate the client list: Vail Resorts, Air Methods, Campminder, RemoteLock and Land Title Group, plus Fathom Events. The Vail Resorts site was a custom WordPress build with bespoke animation, Fathom Events needed ticketing and content-studio integrations wired into WordPress, and Huckleberry Roasters, a Denver coffee company, got a custom Shopify store. The pattern is a design-heavy front end on a mainstream CMS that marketing teams already know.

Mid-size and larger companies that want a hand-built marketing site or Shopify store with real motion and personality, and a small senior team to make it, suit Groundwrk well. If you are starting without a brand, the identity work is lighter than at a dedicated brand studio, so it may make sense to settle naming and identity first.
